Carmen's Pups

Carmen had her pups on the 15th November. Both short tailed. One girl black and white and a brown boy.

They are really coming on. The girl already is up on her feet at 17 days and play fighting with me.

This breed amazes me every time.

Only Three Days To Go

Well the day is nearly upon us. Carmen's pups are due on Wednesday. Carmen had a birthing bath yesterday and it certainly woke the pups up, they were certainly playing football inside her. Finger crossed that there's more than two, I'm sure that I could feel three. Though in reality as long as Carmen and pups are well that's all that matters.

Anyone interested in buying a pup of any breed can find the necessary results of the parents by viewing the Kennel Clubs website. Calida's hipscore was on the day after it was reported on by the BVA.

Could not believe it but Calida (Briarlow's Belleza) won Best in Show at the first Spanish Water Dog Club Open Show.

Calida's Hipscore

Well they've come back not as good as I would have liked but they're still in the teens. Wish they'd been better, still she has clear eyes and one of the best temperaments going in the breed so I can't have everything.

We are off to National Gundog on Saturday. Should be fun, a mad Spanish and me still being unable to stand or walk to far. Fingers crossed that she will do well and behave.

Well Calida's films have finally arrived at the BVA and have been scored today. Please wish us luck that she has a good score, knowing my luck so far this year they won't be!

They've Arrived

Well Calida's films of her hips taken in April have turned up at the vets. The Royal Mail have had hold of them for nearly 3 months and then sent them back to the vets. Hopefully they will arrive at the BVA in the next couple of days and then fingers crossed be scored next Thursday.

Just keeping everything crossed that it's been worth this long wait and hassle.

Ollie a Rosita/Anton son has had a clear gonioscopy today. This is great news as Rosita is a borderline score of 2 and Anton is clear.

Agghhhh

Well Calida's x-rays of her hips have been lost between the Vets and the BVA. Took her to have them re-done on Monday and the vet that I wanted to do it wasn't in, so she spent 3 hours at the vets in a cage for nothing!

Fingers crossed that the Royal Mail have held onto them as they have previously done this when veterinary surgeries have paid the wrong postage for 3 months!! Decided to wait one more month incase they have done the same with Calida's.

Please everyone keep everything crossed that they turn up so that she doesn't have to undergo an unecessary GA!

Goodbye for the Weekend

Well mum, Carmen, Calida and myself are off in a few hours to the Spanish Water Dog weekend. Lastar and Lana will be staying with their human grandad.

Hoping that the weather is nice, weather report is a bit mixed! Photo's will follow in a few days time.

Goodbye Anton

Sadly and with deep regret I'm having to rehome Anton. Although as many of you know he is my "favourite" if I'm allowed to say that he no longer gets on with Lastar around the girls seasons times and as Lastar I feel is to old to rehome I am having to let Anton go.

Hopefully he has found a family who will love him as much as me and he is off down south tomorrow. Some pictures below taken on Friday.

Calida

Well clipped off Calida, took quite a while as she has a really thick but soft coat. Photo's to follow shortly.

Having to go to the vets later as the wrong BVA hipscoring form had been used so have to go back to sign the correct one! More delay and the 6 weeks is a long enough wait as it is.

Anton and Dad

Anton is staying at mum and dad's at the moment, keep swapping the dogs around.

Dad phoned today to ask if he could take him out for a walk and I said no as he didn't have his harness, as Anton is a bit of a puller! Well they did both go for a walk in the village and my dad was so pleased with him! He said that Anton looked sooooo proud when he was sat waiting at the traffic lights, think that they both really enjoyed themselves, bless.

Birmingham National

Calida had a fun day at the show yesterday and got fourth in her class. Stood beautifully as ever but still a nutter on the move, but much calmer than she normally is so she's getting there.

Well done to Tangle and Ghillie who of course are Lastar babies and their mum was Briarlow bred. Tangle got Best Bitch and Ghillie reserve best dog. Well done to Marley who won his class. A number of other Briarlow bred dogs got well placed also.

Well done to the Smith's whose boy got BOB, which was well deserved after what he's been through and he looked great on the day, as did their two girls. Also well done to Callie, you looked beautiful as best puppy and it was nice to see so many black Spanish on one day, different to the usual browns, he, he!

Where Has the Time Gone?

Calida was one on Wedneday and I really do not know where that year has gone.

All of her eye tests are clear and she had her hips x-rayed yesterday, so now an agonising wait for the results. All looked OK so fingers and everything else crossed that the BVA testers think so too!

Pups had a lovely day today and met their two legged grandma Gill who is Choco's mum and she brought them all a present each to take to their new homes.
